JOHN DOLAN
stuck up
The record of one summer in the life of a failure—a resentful, defiant, absurd figure sulking in Canada’s North Woods. With only his gargantuan dog as company, he broods revenge, reimagines himself in terms of the great battles of history, and tries to salvage some remnant of his disastrous life. The poems chronicle his writhings — comic, violent, pathetic and malevolent by turns.
John Dolan is a Californian poet, now living in New Zealand and a welcome addition to our poetic landscape.
