Rowan Metcalfe was born in Taupiri in 1955. She won the 1974 BNZ Katherine Mansfield Young Writers Competition and had stories published in New Zealand literary magazines and anthologies. She has recently returned to live in New Zealand after twenty years in England.
Gregory O'Brien is Wellington poet and painter. His most recent book, Lands and Deeds, is a sumptuously-illustrated collection of interviews with New Zealand painters.
