Peter Bland's Selected Pomes is due out from Carcanet in 1998. He is currently living in Putney, where he was a prize-winner in the London Weiter's Competition.

Ken Bolton is an Adelaide poet who was a guest at the 1996 Writers and Readers Week.

Rachel Bush is Nelson writer whose first book of poems, What People Want, will be published by VUP in October.

Janet Charman is the 1997 Writer in Residence at Auckland University.

Catherine Chidgey is a Wellignton writer currently completing an MA in Creative Writing at Victoria University. A story appeared in sport 16.

Geoff Cochrane's second novel, Blood, will be published by VUP in August.

Bill Direen is one of New Zealand's most celebrated underground musicians. He has also worked in theatre and published several books of poems,including Evolition (Nag's Head Press, 1995).He is presently living in Berlin.

John Dolan is an American who teaches in the University of Otago English Department. A collection of poems, Stuck Up, was publlished by AUP in 1995.

Jane Gardner is a Wellington writer whose poems have appeared in Sport 16 and 17.

David Geary's most recent work has been appearing as The Bad Lieutenant in Hercules.This includes terrorising villagers with his dodgy valley-boy accent and the ultimate doomsday machine, The Fist of Tolas. In between takes he writes poems.

Bernadette Hall is a Christchurch writer, whose fourth collection of poems, Still Talking,will be published by VUP in July.

Ann-Marie Houng Lee lives in Whakatane. She completed Owen Marshall's fiction-writing course in Timaru and has had a story published in Metro.

Eirlys Hunter is Wellington Writer. Her The Robber and the millionaire has been shortlisted for the 1997 NZ Post Children's Book Awards.

Tony Lee's poems have appeared in landfall, Takahe, and Poetry NZ. He writes and studies in Christchurch.

Owen Marshall is the author of eight books of short stories, most recently coming Fellow in the Dark (Vintage, 1995), and a novel. He was the 1996 Katherine Mansfield Fellow in Menton.

G.J.Melling is a Wellington architect/poet. A sequence ‘Postcards from the Coast’ is due out mid 1997 from Thumbprint Press.

Rowan Metcalfe was born in Taupiri in 1955. She won the 1974 BNZ Katherine Mansfield Young Writers Competition and had stories published in New Zealand literary magazines and anthologies. She has recently returned to live in New Zealand after twenty years in England.

Gregory O'Brien is Wellington poet and painter. His most recent book, Lands and Deeds, is a sumptuously-illustrated collection of interviews with New Zealand painters.

Chris Orsman's second book of poems,South: An Antarctic Journey,was published by VUP in 1996.

Chris Price is the Editor of Landfall and Writers and Readers Coordinator for the NZ International Festival of the Arts. Two poems appeared in Sport17.

C.K.Stead's latest novel, Villa Vittoria, has just appeared, and Straw into Gold: Poems New and Selectedis forthcoming from AUP.

Louise Wrightson often thinks about buying a dog. She is reading One Hundred and One Best Dog Breeds. An Australian cattle dog called a Blue Heeler seems to suit her personality best.
