One of the things I like to do
is count the days to your return
on the international calendar
your girlfriend gave me.

in conversation
and repeat stories that aren't mine.

and have people figure
it's just that friendship of ours
they don't quite understand.

Sometimes one of the things I like to do
is kiss somebody new
in their parked car
while we're talking of you.
