The word as a means of communication

Above everything else
the word is an attempt
to end isolation

Fingertips of heroes
clinging defiantly
to ledges

Small boats
sailed fearlessly
on wide oceans

That grass
which grows from
the armpits of concrete

Those temporary footsteps
at regular intervals
of Captain Scott
disappearing in the snow.
