XI Sugars, Cinnamons and Sweets

Europeans were expensive to maintain
at the princely level
to which they were accustomed.

They were notoriously susceptible
to disease
& alcoholism
& allergic to hard work.

If the Quashee refuses to do what work the maker intended:
bringing out these various sugars, cinnamons, and sweets
of the West-Indian Islands
for the benefit of all mankind, well then,
neither will the Powers permit Quashee
to continue growing pumpkins there
for his own lazy benefit.
