Sport 32: Summer 2004

The old Post Office Building stands on the waterfront, mostly empty. The IAP has been gifted the use of the fourth floor for rehearsal space. This can't last long: the building is going to be sold off, developed, millionaire apartments put in. The light washes in grey from the harbour. Even before the musicians arrive instruments stand around page 116 against walls: drums, percussion, the Hammond organ, a vibraphone. A painting done on separate boards, which are then hung together, is on one wall: numbers from one to ten.
‘McCahon for children,’ one of the cameramen says unkindly.
