The moon's a fawn balloon
from the gondola of which
a Pharaoh and his five astrologers
survey the ink-blue seas.

Once upon a time,
I lived in a pluvial gorge.
My dim, dripping workshop
would seem to have been a place
of mushrooms and clockwork,
but what was I busy inventing, if not myself?
