Poem after reading Yang Mu
Poem after reading Yang Mu
Between trees, fantasies of air.
*
A sparrow pecks
at the room’s ripe
interior, as you begin
to populate a beach
from memory:
sky’s wasteland,
bristling sea,
rock pools’ cogent analyses.
*
Light trudges over pale sand.
Wind-prisms shift
in the taller dunes.
*
You gather yourself,
like
a tremulous shore.
*
In the sky, a flying triangle
of birds.
