Mr. George Fisher has taken a prominent part in connection with the civic Government of the City. In September, 1877, he was elected a member of the Council, and continued to occupy a seat till May, 1881. He is referred to as Mayor of Wellington, and on page 84 as an ex-Minister of the Crown.
