Mr. Gerald Richardson McMahon
Mr. Gerald Richardson McMahon, Second Engineer of the s.s. “Ionic,” was born at Manchester, England, in 1862. He was educated at London, and served his apprenticeship to the engineering in that city. At the termination of his time, he went to sea, and was employed in the New York trade for four years. He then served five years on the s.s. “Coptic,” and joined the “Ionic” in 1894, as Second Engineer. Mr. McMahon is a member of the Merchant Navy Lodge of Freemasons.
