Mr. William Hodgson, Chief Officer of the s.s. “Indramayo,” was born in 1854 at Liverpool, where he was educated. On leaving school he went to sea in one of the vessels of Messrs. Bruce and Co., of Liverpool. Mr. Holgson was afterwards successively in the employ of other shipping firms. Joining the s.s. “Indramayo” in 1891 as second officer, he was promoted in the following year to the position of chief officer. Mr. Hodgson is a member of the Liverpool Lodge of Oddfellows. He is married and has five children.
