Mr. Loughlin O'Brien sat as the Senior Member for Auckland City in the House of Representatives in 1854–55. He was born in Dublin, Ireland, and came to New Zealand in the early days of the colony. Mr. O'Brien has, at different periods, filled the offices of Sheriff, Registration, Returning and Revising Officer, Registrar of the Supreme Court, and a Judge of the Native Land Court and the Native Appellate Court. He resides at Putiki Bay, Waiheke.
