Steuart And Fenn

Steuart And Fenn (W. Steuart and E J. Fenn), Electrical Engineers, Fort Street, Auckland, and Dowling Street, Dunedin. This business was started in Auckland in 1900 by Mr. Fenn, who had previously the management of the electrical department of Messrs John Chambers and Son. He took over the electrical business of that firm and entered into partnership with Mr. Steuart, who superintended the Auckland branch of the business, while Mr. Fenn took charge of the Dunedin branch. The firm contracts for every description of electrical work, power transmission, electrical tramways, and lighting. A large stock of electrical machinery is kept on hand, and a number of experienced workmen are employed in various parts of the colony on the important contracts undertaken by the firm. Several lighting contracts have recently been most satisfactorily completed. The Barrier Reefs Gold Mining Company, several gold mining dredges on the West Coast of the South Island, the Waitara Freezing Works, and Fuller's Theatre, Dunedin, have been supplied by Messrs Steuart and Fenn with machinery for electric light.
