The business of this firm was established in 1875 by the senior partner, and has been conducted by the present proprietors jointly since 1892. It extends throughout the Canterbury provincial district. Messrs. Gould, Beaumont and Co. are exporters and agents for the sale of woo and produce. They occupy a single-storey stone building containing large public offices, together with three private offices. As insurance agents, they represent the London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company and the Marine Insurance Company of London. Mr. Joseph Gould is a director of the New Zealand Shipping Company and of several other local companies.
