Weights And Measures' Office.

The Office of the Inspector of Weights and Measures is situated in the building known as the Central Police Station, Lower High Street, Dunedin. All weights and measures are produced for inspection, and stamped by the inspector.

Mr. John McIntyre , Inspector of Weights and Measures, and Fisheries, for page 144 Otago, was born in County Derry, Ireland, and came to New Zealand in 1882, Shortly after arriving in Otago he started farming, but gave that up to join the police force. After serving in Wellington, Invercargill, Alexandra, and Arrowtown, he was appointed to his present position in 1901.
