Payne, Joseph , Saddler and Harness Maker, Lumsden. Mr Payne was born in December, 1880, at Caroline, Southland, and was educated at Fernhills. He was brought up to the saddlery business at Centre Bush, and in 1902, he removed to Lumsden, where he set up in business for himself. Mr Payne's premises consist of a wood and iron building, containing shop and dwelling. He is a member of the Loyal Lumsden Lodge of Oddfellows, and of the Lumsden Racing Club.
