The Autobiography of a Maori

Acknowledgments

Acknowledgments

I wish once more to express, as I did in regard to the publication of The Story of a Maori Chief, my thanks to the State Literary Fund Advisory Committee for their aid in the publication of The Autobiography of a Maori. Were it not for that aid my effort to write in a foreign tongue would have been frustrated. And, although I am well on in years, I live in hopes that my next manuscript, Thornton of Te Aute, will also be published. I have spent much time and thought in the production of the manuscript and I think that it will be appreciated by the people.

I wish also to tender my thanks to the publishers, Messrs A. H. and A. W. Reed, for their sympathetic co-operation. I feel that their interest in the publication of my books is more than that of business—it's personal. I must not forget to express also my thanks to the printers, Messrs. Wright and Carman Ltd.
