Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1892.

[No. 678, 1891, Sess. II.—Petition of Tomopo te Rangi and 12 Others.]

No. 678, 1891, Sess. II.—Petition of Tomopo te Rangi and 12 Others.

Petitioners allege that, through the interference of a half-caste woman, they are unable to obtain possession of Sections 39 and 40, Koheroa, being a portion of land returned by Government to the late Hone Whatarangi. They pray that a survey be made, and the land finally conveyed to them.

I have the honour to report that, as this matter has already been settled by Government, the Committee has no recommendation to make.

Ko taua whenua he whenua i whakahokia e te Kawanatanga kia Hone Whatarangi a kua mate ia. A e inoi ana ratou kia ruritia taua whenua a me tuku tuturu atu ki a ratou.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei: No te mea kua oti tenei take te whakahaere e te Kawanatanga. Kahore he kupu o te Komiti.
