Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1895

[No. 59.—Petition of Hoani Wetere Tahea.]

No. 59.—Petition of Hoani Wetere Tahea.

Petitioner alleges that the lands of his ancestors—viz., Pohoraerae, near Christohurch, were wrongfully taken, and that he is left with insufficient means of support. He prays for relief.

I have the honour to report that the Committee recommend that the Government should take petitioner’s case into consideration when providing for other landless Natives of the South.

20th August, 1895.
