Sister of H. B. Dobbie, aunt of Beatrix Dobie (below). Was living in Opunake near Parihaka and out sketching when a Maori not belonging to the district rode up and demanded money. When she

refused and threatened to report him he killed her. He was tried and condemned to death. The Armed Constabulary put up a monument to her.
