JAMIESON, Cecil b.1884

Born Christchurch: studied under J. M. Nairn in Wellington and is said to have taken lessons from Frances Hodgkins. To England 1904, studied at the Royal Academy Schools, Lambeth and Kensington. Member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, exhibited RA, the Paris Salon and the Glasgow Institute, and watercolours at the New English Art Club. Exhibited CSA 1904, and in 1909 and 1910 as Wellington member. Work included in Centennial Ex Wtn 1940. Represented: ACAG.
