Arrived Auckland 1842 on the Jane Gifford; probably worked as a surveyor. In 1844 made drawings of Auckland for John Logan Campbell and ‘views of Auckland’ were said to have been sent to London to be engraved. A local newspaper engraving was made from one of Adam's drawings and has often been reproduced. The original is in AIML.
