The following is an extract from an article called the "Army and its Air Arm" by C. G. Grey in the "Aeroplane" of the 19th Jan. 1940. It is a quotation from an American newspaper. The "Aeroplane", by the way, has the reputation of being the unofficial organ of the R.A.F. It is interesting in that it represents a neutral expertes view on the comparatively minor use made of aircraft by the belligerent Powers in the Second World War.
