Sir,—
In reply to your letter of the 31st ult., in which you recommend that the Government should purchase a valuable block of land at Whangarei, estimated to contain Twenty-four thousand (24,000) acres, for tbe sum of Two thousand seven hundred pounds (£2,700), I have the honor, by direction of the officer administering the Government, to convey to you His Excellency's sanction for making such purchase, and to inform you that the Colonial Treasurer has received instructions to furnish you with the necessary funds.
