No. 6.
The Surveyor-General to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary.
Surveyor-General's Office,
Auckland, 5th June, 1841.Sir,—
I have the honor to state, for the information of His Excellency the Governor, that the land recently purchased from the Natives of the Ngatipaoa tribe, the boundaries of which have been described to me by the Chief Protector of Aborigines, contains an area of about (6,000) six thousand acres, as nearly as it is possible to estimate it without actual survey of the western and southern boundaries.
I have, &c.,
Felton Mathew,
The Hon. the Colonial Secretary.
Surveyor-General.
