This day July Twelfth in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Thirty-seven, 1837. 12 July. I assign to the Aborigines from whom I purchased the portion of land included Tamaki Block. in the deed on the other side of this document, One third of the whole purchase, the Return of one-third to original proprietors. boundaries to be determined as soon as the country shall be surveyed. That is to say page 308 that each of the Tribes known by the names of Ngati Paoa, Ngati Tamatera, Ngati Terau, Te Akitai, and Ngati Wanaunga, shall have secured to them for their personal use for ever, in proportion to the number of persons of whom their tribes may consist residing in any part of the Frith of the Thames and Manukau.
