[Masterton a nursing-ground for Australian pressmen]
Masterton (says the Wairarapa Daily) has for many years been a sort of nursing-ground for Australian pressmen. When a lad has learned his trade in this town, he generally takes a trip to the big colonies on the other side of the water; and we could give a list of a dozen Wairarapa youths who are amongst the reporters, editors, sub-editors, foremen, and compositors across the sea. Almost all of them seem to be doing well, and some are occupying prominent positions in their new sphere of labor.
