An enemy raider may be at sea in the South Atlantic. The indications are mines off Cape Agulhas, the sighting of a suspicious ship on 2 May, and the fact that the British SS Scientist (6199 tons),2 which left Durban on 27 April, is overdue. Two German merchant ships, which may be acting as supply ships, have escaped, one from Azores and the other from the Canaries.
